Tortuga, Attack! was history in the making for Infernal Death. This marked their first ever professional release, under their first label, Evil Angel Records. At the time of the release, Evil Angel Records was called Working Class Records.

Dean is credited with writing both the “A” and “B” sides of the single.

Both tracks were recorded at Gunsmoke! Productions in Toronto. Danny Harris has his first production credit on the song Tortuga! Attack, which turned out decent. Seared Flesh, the “B” side, was produced by Robbie Donnelly and showed an incredible difference in the quality of the two songs.

The cover was initially slated to be printed completely in black and white to save the band money, but they ended up convincing the printing company to throw in the titling in colour for free. The image depicts a battle on the island of Tortuga between the Spanish and English forces.
