Popomundo Festivals

Popofests are special competitions, that are held by Jeanne Stjärnblom (who took over from Melvin Stjärnblom after his death). They don't happen on a regular basis and only the best bands in the world can take part. To take part, bands have to sign up for one of the 8 preliminaries, which happen in 8 different cities, in clubs, that get selected by Jeanne, after their owners signed themselves up for it. The top 5 from each preliminary competition make it to Popofest.

There are character achievements and also artist badges for the top three bands. Also everyone, that takes part in the main event get an achievement from Popofest VI on.

• It's Pop #37 got an article about the happenings at the Festival.

• Melvin Stjärnblom handpicked the first bands to take part in a festival.
• One copy of the new “Book of Composing” was be awarded to each of the top three contenders. This book wasn't on sale for another couple of weeks back then.
• The consolation prize for smallest audience (a Basic Showmanship book) went to Paroxysm.
