Tilly Goldsmith

Tilly Megan Goldsmith appeared in Popmundo on the 1 October 2008.

Tilly is the daughter of Beth Christou, Neil Johnson & Dean Goldsmith.

Tilly's name came from a friend of Beth's, Megan Maynard. Beth credits Megan for getting her involved in It's POP and believes her beautiful and kind nature, was what she wanted her daughter to be. Thus, Tilly was given the gift of Megan as her middle name.

Tilly says that her childhood was fun, growing up traveling with her mother, Beth and father, Dean on the road. Just before Tilly's 7th birthday, Beth took up a job as the Chief of Police of Melbourne, and Tilly went to live with her mother, only visiting her father regularly.

On Day 19, Year 47 after a long battle, Dean Goldsmith and Lucius Goldsmith passed away. Tilly remembers this to be the lowest point of her life, and often struggles to talk about the time with anyone. Her relationship with her mother, and Annabelle is described as close, both sharing the common bond of losing someone very important in their lives.

From that moment, Tilly made it her vow to remember and honour her father, choosing to follow his footsteps into the world of Modern Rock and taking up citizenship in London.

Shortly before turning 16, Tilly was in a relationship with Andy Hales. The Chief of Police of Toronto and a friend of her siblings, Aaron & Mia. The relationship ended suddenly after almost 10 months of dating, amid rumours of cheating and dishonesty. Tilly refuses to talk about it in interviews, insisting that it's part of her past and credits her time with Andy as making her much stronger to handle life's challenges.

Long looking forward to the Popmundo Festival, at Mia's insistence, Tilly put an ad out in the local paper looking for love. She was stunned a the responses she received, and one in particular from Nathan Albarella, a well known, martial arts fighter and police officer. The duo spent an amazing time at the Popmundo Festival with each other, before going back to Toronto where Nathan took up a post as a police officer. The relationship took it's course, and when Tilly was dragged away to London for tour preparation and rehearsals, the relationship didn't cope well under the strain of the separation. With the couple barely seeing each other, Tilly decided to call it quits. “It was the first time, I walked away from something, where I thought, 'If this was just a different time and a different place, it could have worked,'” Tilly said in an interview, “I just wasn't in the right frame of mind, and I just don't think we fought hard enough to keep it going.” Tilly admits.

After experiencing a crush on the notorious ladies man, Matt Salmon, Tilly indulged in some reckless behaviour that she says, “I just totally disregarded my head and my heart and just did stuff that was totally out of my character. I didn't know how much I was hurting, until I woke up the next morning and just thought, 'Holy crap, why did I do that?' It was dumb, it was stupid, but totally a lesson learned.”

Taking on the lifes lessons she learned, on Day 40, Year 56, she met Ricky Hadley. “We bumped into each other at the University campus. I had absolutely no idea who he was, except I'd heard his name from a friend of a friend & I knew he'd gone through a break up around the same time as me.” From there, they went to grab a bite to eat and the rest they say is history. “It was when we sat down, we realised how much we had in common. I knew he'd done some bad things, but he was just looking for a chance to make things right. My parents always taught me to give everyone a chance, and not to judge a person as we never know what their situation or circumstance is.”

It was a whirlwind romance, with the couple trying to take it slowly, but instead spending every waking moment together and Tilly began flying to her gigs and flying straight back out to Belgrade, where Ricky was living to spend some extra time with him.

It became official on the Day 52, Year 56, Ricky proposed to Tilly at Belgrade Zoo during an outing with his children (Tilly's Christmas gift to them). “He was just there, with this gorgeous ring, and with his beautiful children and it just felt so right. I knew that the answer was yes and I became immediately excited about setting up a home with him and becoming his wife.”

Tilly & Ricky later married on the beaches of Rio in front of family on Day 56 Year 58. Tilly was several months pregnant with the couples first child together.

The couple's daughter, Cobie Deanna Hadley was born on Day 21, Year 59 in Rio.

Shortly after their daughter was born, Tilly realised that their relationship wasn't moving as well & whilst they still loved each other, wasn't enough to sustain the marriage. Just before the couple's first wedding anniversary, they called it quits issuing a statement echoing each other's firm commitment to remain friends.

Tilly struggled to move on from Ricky, often feeling pangs of failure for the marriage ending so soon. It's rumoured that Tilly has began dating again.

Tilly names her sister, Annabelle Goldsmith as her best and oldest friend. “We've been through so much together, and I can truly rely on her for everything. She's more than my sister, she's my best friend.”

Tilly can also be seen in the company of Scott Digger & Jordyn Digger. Meeting Jordyn through a friend, Tilly was delighted when her two friends got together romantically and eventually marrying. Tilly and Scott were friends for a while, meeting randomly one day and friendship quickly formed. “It's funny, Scott actually met my Mom first through It's POP, she mentioned that he was a nice guy and could probably do with a friend. Then when we met, we just clicked. I never expected that or experienced that with someone before. It was way cool.” Tilly said in a recent interview.

Despite their romantic history, Tilly also considers Matt Salmon as a close friend. The duo often run to each other whenever life becomes a bit too challenging. Whilst Tilly once had a crush on Matt, she insists that they are just friends, with Matt stating he was supportive of Tilly's relationship with Ricky.

Tilly is the lead vocalist and pianist of Mistresses of Mayhem. Annabelle Goldsmith and Saphirra Tiara Stone are also serving band members. The trio are on their way to completing their very first world tour.
