Sofie Buunen

Sofie is the Lead Singer and Dancer of the number one african band: Courougnegre.

Sofie appeared in the Popomundo universe 22/06/2005.

Sofie never went to school but received daily teachings by her mother. She enjoys soft drinks and surfing the internet. She can't stand Sushi and salty food. Sofie was scarred when she fell off a tricycle as a kid.

Sofie became a smart girl after all the teaching of her mother. She knew what she wanted: Singing. Singing was her passion, everything she wanted. When she sung she sang most of her own songs from the very unknown a new start and the famous ones like, love isn't true and why did I ever told you. Sofie played her own live in her songs. The songs like love isn't true and why did I ever told you are about the lost of a love. And baby blues and many more are about her family life. She never thought of becoming an artist intull day 8 of year 17. On a beautiful Wednesday she walked around in the Vondelpark. She saw a band playing and she thought: I can do better than that! At that day, she left her safe life to become an artist. She created Sazzie: a pop band. At that same night she played a show, with a few visitors. The show was crappy, but she continued her journey to fame. The shows became better but she knew that playing in Amsterdam couldn't bring her the fame that she wanted. She bought a ticket with her last money and took a plain to America: The land of opportunities. The whole trip was a terrible mistake, she lost her apartment, her cat died and she lost all her friends. After this big mistakes she new that she couldn't tour on her own anymore: she needed a band mate. She took a shot with a friend of hers: she left Sazzie and started: United Friends. It was a very wise decision and she had a great time. She and Westley made United Friends famous and had a lot of fun. But Westley was tired of touring and wanted to stay in Amsterdam for a wile. But Sofie couldn’t she had to reached her goal of fame. She knew that it was wrong to stay, and Westley left the band. She was very sad for a long time. Touring went well, and united friends became famous but she was so alone. She felt so bad. She found a new band member Bram van Esch. But Bram had also different plans and left the band at one day, took a plain to Barcelona and never talked to Sofie again. Sofie was very sad again and didn't want to have another band member in her life. So she toured a bit lonely around, made some friends.

And than. After a long time of touring a man appeared: Théo Mandelin. Sofie was just walking in the park intull he appeared and told her these beautiful words: Hi, I took a picture of you. If you don't like it, you don't need to take it. But you looked so beautiful that I had to take your picture. Sofie bushed and she had 3 wonderful days with Théo, but than he disappeared. She wrote him letters, and he wrote back. But nothing really happened. But than at one day: Sofie and Théo met again. This time in Paris. When Sofie saw him again, she fell in love. She saw him in his apartment and screamed that he had to come out of it. The made love and Sofie felt so much love for him. But she had to leave… She left to Amsterdam with pain in her heart. She saw a photograph in a magazine and saw Théo made it. She wrote to him right away, and the started talking again. But nothing happend… Sofie missed him, and than a letter came: Hey, Returning to Europe next week for a long stay in Amsterdam. Can't wait to see ya :D Was reading through the old newspapers that I had missed earlier. So, you want a kid? And you're ovulating at the time I'm arriving in Amsterdam… it this simply a coincident or is it fate? Sofie jumped out of her chair: he wanted a child! After that he wrote her a letter that we would met at 00:00 and that he loved Sofie. Théo loved her… Sofie was so happy… She knew that she loved him to. And finally.. After ages of waiting: she saw him again. He was so handsome, and they kissed right away. They had a snuggle and Sofie was hoping that she was pregnant. After 4 days, she quitted hoping, and told Théo that she wasn't pregnant.. They were both disappointed, but after that day: Sofie was pregnant. Théo hugged her and told her that he was the happiest man on earth. Sofie was happy to she was having a baby! They came up with a name: Noa for a girl and Christophe for a boy. Their relationship and love grew, and Sofie wanted to be more with Théo. She made a difficult decision. She decided to quit with United Friends and she asked Théo if she could join his band. He just started a new African one.

And he said yes. So Sofie and Théo would tour around together in Courougnegre. It went surprisingly well and they got up 1 in the charts. They made a single together: When love goes wrong.

At one day, Sofie and Théo were on a date. It was a beautiful day and Théo was nervous all the time. They had a great diner and Théo hold Sofie hand and told her how much he loved her. Then he got down on one knee, and showed Sofie a ring and he asked her to marry him. Sofie kissed him and said YES!

Then Sofie delivered a lovely baby: Noa Mandelin. Théo and Sofie were very proud and happier than ever. And at the 10th of May they married in Paris. In the George sand hotel, with Kok as the minister….

So after a long time of loving, touring and being pregnant Sofie finally reached her goal. Maybe she isn't the most famous artist in the world, but she has a wonderful family and a great band.

But, after a long and happy relationship, Théo and Sofie broke up. Sofie was fired from Courougnegre, and started a new band. On my own, would be there for her to think about her life. And she also took the job of rodie for the Huijsmans band. She also makes little wedding dresses for Regina's kids

Well, after she became tired of being a rodie, she changed her band name into: Chango and became an African act again. After a struggling start, almost no cash, Sofie found her happiness. Not with a guy, but in her single life. Sofie is very promo and single and is enjoying every minute. Of course, she will always hunker for the 'right' guy, but she doesn't really need him.

Chango gained a 'fortune' but Sofie didn't. Sofie really struggles with money problems atm and she can't wait to buy a tour bus. Sofie set her mind of guys and she focused on Chango for a while, the best thing she ever could have done. Chango became popular and she took her show ratings to good. Sofie didn't like the idea of a crappy single so she waited a long time to gain fame and popularity but within 2 weeks she will have chango's first single out on the market: It's always about love. On this new single are the songs: A guy and to my love. Of course Sofie and her whole crew hope that the single will sell good.

After seeing her special friend Regina Dijkhuis (Huijsmans) get married, Sofie though about her life and of course her mistakes. It made her feel good to see Regina get married, but it hurt her feelings because she thought about Théo again. She decided to not ever give her heart away to any man: that way she’ll never get hurt or have any trouble. She just wanted to have a happy life and ‘spread the love like a fever’ to quote Mr. Leece. Ye, she loves her free life J

Sofie also has a very special band with a local. In Rome there's a beautiful club named: Sofie Buunen. She's thankful to Brenda every second.

After 30 days of cleaning, sofie figured out that she could get a beter job and became a salesmanager. She did that for 200 days, became a salesmanager but never she wanted more: she became a pr manager. But then an even greater offer was given to her and she took it, she's police officer and she loved it. But she took another job, salesmanager again, and now her boss is mrs. regina Huijsmans ;)
