Personal History
Rubella appeared in Popmundo 31/10/2007.
She is a sensitive and bright girl. She enjoys to play the piano and sing. She also loves to read books. Rubella was born in Copenhagen but grew up in London. Her mother is Elisabeth Adolfsson. Her father was Byron Beach. Shea D'Ambrosio was her adoptive parent. Etta Begley is her adoptive parent.
As a child she suffered from uterine cancer. After having been hospitalized for months and going through surgery she was finally declared healthy at age 6. However, as a result of the cancer, Rubella became infertile.
Rubella moved to New York at the age of 12. The move happened very spontaneously. She was visiting her brother Nazz Chapman when her mother Etta Begley let her know that she wanted her to stay. That decision was based on the fact that there were more opportunities for Rubella in New York than in her hometown of London. Not long after the move she had her first day at SoMA.
At age 14 Rubella decided to ditch her trademark aka the mohawk she had been sporting literally since the day of her birth. In a blog entry she wrote: “Rest in peace mohawk. You were my faithful companion for more than 14 years and I will never forget you. I thought it was time for a change.”
