Personal History

Miharu Mori appeared in the Popomundo universe on 06/03/2005.

Pre-CUTIE! era

Miharu Mori Mori started off in her first band with high hopes, sadly though her hopes and dreams for stardom were crushed. Mori was only 17 at the time and didn't know much about the business but she refused to give up. One of Mori's more successful bands is Deadly Roses, a punk rock group, where Mori and band member Christopher Deguchi attempted once again to make it big. Sadly this band was short lived after, Mori had kicked Christopher out of the band due to some issues with drugs he was having .

Shortly after the group disbanded Mori attempted once again to make it big with her new solo act which she called Schoolgirls. While all this was going on Mori hooked up with her ex-band member Christopher Deguchi, which she did have a child with which she named Riyo Deguchi. Sadly, after awhile Mori and Christopher drifted apart, and Mori disbanded her new solo act. Mori also had another child named Juno Mori.

CUTIE! era

album01-1.jpg After Mori had some time to think she decided to try one more time with a solo act, CUTIE!. This Solo act of Mori's stayed solo for a couple of months, releasing her first single Geisha Dreams which sold suprisingly well to her compared to her past failures. She then continued on releasing the single Simple and Clean and the single Fake Friendship, and watched as each single sold more than the previous one. After the release of her third single Fake Friendship she released her debut album Strawberry//Love+Shake , which sold a decent amount of copies. Mori then BLACK CHERRY album cover continued on to release two more singles, NO REGRET and Star which ended up being her highest selling singles at that point. After the release of her fifth single Star, Christopher Deguchi, former ex-band member, joined CUTIE!, which came to a big surprise to fans. Their first single together as a group Bad Girl / Bad Boy ended up outselling all of her previous singles. They then released their first album as a group. Their album, BLACK CHERRY, was a huge success and had shown how much more popularity they had gained since the release of Mori's debut solo album. BLACK CHERRY sold over three times the amount that Cutie's debut album ended up selling. Shortly after the albums release they released their second single together as a group. Go! MY HEAVEN was the highest selling single that the group had released up to that point.

BLACK~CHERRY era

As the group began to work on their newest album, they decided to change the groups name. Taking inspiration from their debut album together as a group, they called themselves BLACK~CHERRY. After this sudden name change they released _1WISH / 1LOVE_ their third single together as a group. The single was a double a-side single. The single ended up becoming their highest selling single at this point in their career. The Get Down!! album coversingle was their first single to actually chart in the weekly top 40, grabbing the 36th spot. After the success of this single they continued and released the singles 人魚姫 and SOS ~ Sound Of Sex. Both singles did not reach the success as their previous single, the sales were disappointing, and people viewed this as the group's popularity falling. Though the Mori and Christopher continued on and released their second studio album Get Down!!. The album out-sold their first album as a group by almost double, this was quite surprising since the public believed that the group was beginning to lose popularity. The album was their first album to chart in the weekly top 40, charting at #28. Soon after the release of the album they released the smash single BUT!! / 愛証. The single became their highest selling single, selling over half a million copies and is still currently their highest selling single. Sadly though, this single was the last single that Miharu Mori and Christopher Deguchi released together. Soon after the release of the single Christopher left the group for unknown reasons.

P l a y era

P l a y Album coverAfter Christopher left the group, Mori once again became solo. The group's name was changed to Mori's full name. This name change was a sure sign that ex-member Deguchi would not be re-joining the group anytime soon. Before Christopher left he did help contribute to Mori first solo single since the group disbanded. Deguchi had written the b-side track for the single. The single originally wasn't planned to be a solo single, but since the group had disbanded it was turned into one. Mori released her 7th solo single JUICY, which had moderate success, but did not reach the peak that the previous single had, which was released while the group had still been together. After the release of the single, Mori wasn't heard from for quite some time, after quite some time she had come back into the public eye. Mori announced the release of a new single titled FREAKY on her official blog, she also announced that she is working on her second solo studio album P l a y. The new single was released August 22nd, 2007, along with a promotional video for the single. Mori's second solo album was released shortly after on September 26th. Sadly both the album and the single did not reach the success of her previous group efforts with Christopher, but did moderately well, considering her absence from the spot light for so long. Mori later announced that she would be releasing a new single titled 愛証 ~unplugged~, which was described as a completely re-done version of her most successful single BUT!! / 愛証. This single was released on October 10th, and went on to sell a total of 283,476 copies in it's first week, which is three times more than her previous single sold in it's first week. Overall the single ended up selling 704,155 copies, outselling the original single it was inspired from. This single is Mori's highest selling single of her career so far. Mori went on to release her next two singles Run For Your Life and her first limited single, hands. Both were moderately successful. In the spirit of the holidays Mori released the special holiday single X~M♥S, which sold poorly to Mori's standards of sales.

After all of this had happened, Christopher joined Mori one last time, changing their name to project 3.0. They released the single SEX ME GIRL, which was the last single that they released together. After this both Mori and Christopher quit the group completely.
