Michael Hopper

Michael Hopper was a man, Michael Hopper was a special man. His fame was unmatched and his passion ever lasting, until that fateful day at Parc Guell. Michael Hopper died early in Popo year 22, one year after capturing Popomundo festival gold with his band OneWayTrip and his great friend, Bernie Harris .

Michael Hopper appeared back in May 2004 with his band The Unbroken Few , soon turning them into one of the biggest modern rock bands of the early Popo years. Accompanied by his band mates Connie Perkins, Katherin Taylor and Bertha O'Connell they, beyond all expectations, achieved a 2nd place in the very first Popomundo festival at Central Park, narrowly missing out to National Theatre.

After that the band grew, but late that summer they would disband and Hopper would continue the legacy alone, eventually capturing #1 spot from Kissing Slits. Kissing Slits and The Unbroken Few would dominate Popomundo for a Popo year until the inevitable clash at Popomundo Festival II when TUF and KS went head on to fight for the greatest prize! TUF was again defeated into 2nd place by Kissing Slits, giving Hopper his second silver medal.

The Unbroken few continued as a solo artist until that December when a returning Connie Perkins reunited with Hopper to play TUF's final gig at the place where the band became famous… Central Park.

By this time Michael Hopper was the richest and arguably most famous person walking the Popo earth, his company, HopperSoft Studios, dominated the market. With HopperSoft Studios Michael Hopper was the first player to buy a factory and the first player to own and run a bank. Hopper then made worldwide news when he bought 'The Black Market'! A locale that was meant to be hidden by the devs, but nothing got past Hopper's nose! Unfortunately the locale was soon confiscated from him. It is generally accepted that this locale was infact an early version of the Inquisition headquarters, effectively this means that Hopper was the first person to own the Inquisition.

Michael Hopper would then join OneWayTrip , but here the first signs of his fragile sanity came to light and in early March Hopper would leave OneWayTrip to go live in Nashville Park for two weeks. There, he enjoyed becoming one with nature and 'being one with the squirrels'. His mental issues were at ease here away from the hustle and bustle of city life, his fame and fortune did not matter and his mind found peace. It was here that he met Crystal Inglis . She made him feel better about himself, she was the missing piece of the puzzle and with her love Hopper finally managed to leave Nashville Park.

With his new found love he created a new solo band, Rookie. Although it was brief, Hopper steered Rookie towards yet another silver medal at Live Aid II: Food for naught. He made the top 10 list within a month but his and Crystal's love had grown strong and it was then that they would join together in forming Twilight Garden.

Twilight Garden did things their own way and after some changes in band members, Hopper and Crystal would make it as a successful duo, culminating at Popomundo Festival III where Hopper would once again receive a silver medal for his and Crystal's efforts, this time in a narrow loss to TKWSN.

Hopper's mental stability would soon come into question once more as he began to lose his mind once again. Cause of jealousy and expectations Hopper dismissed his given name to seek refuse and for a number of popo months he would have himself known as 'Mikey' for he no longer wanted the 'burden of the Hopper name'. This soon passed but their relationship hit the rocks last November and Twilight Garden soon ceased to be.

It was then that Hopper began concentrating on his company again, he would soon appoint a PA, Dafne De Groot to handle his affairs for him. It was during this time that he met Emily Williams and after a long time and a lot of work on Hopper's behalf, he got his girl and they would become official at Popomundo Festival IV. By this time Hopper had reunited with Bernie Harris and OneWayTrip with one thing in mind: winning Popomundo Festival IV. After 4 silver medals, Hopper and Harris embarked on the quest for this elusive gold and it was at Parc Guell where it was achieved, winning emphatically with a GOD SMACKING headlining gig.

OneWayTrip continued but Hopper's questionable sanity arose for a third time and this time there was no Crystal to help him, no squirrels and no friends… He kept it quiet, hoping it would go away, but it did not and on the 1st of April 2006, Hopper had one final date with Emily and, without warning, set off to Nashville Park for the final time.

His last words were recorded while sitting down on the plains of Nashville Park, under the stars on a cloudless night. His final resting place.
