Harmen van Hees

Harmen van Hees plays electric guitar and dances for the Modern Rock band Selfish Shellfish.

His parents are happily married. Harmen never went to school but received daily teachings by his mother. He likes to read a good book. He dislikes loud and obnoxious people. Harmen is trying to give up smoking.

Harmen van Hees was born and raised in Amsterdam. At the age of 20 he decided to become a musician although he didn't know how to play an instrument. On the 36th of year 20 he started the band love-hate, later renamed to Selfish Shellfish, in which Harmen plays electric guitar and dances. After 3 days Iemke Groenewoud, a childhood friend of Harmen joined the band as lead singer and dancer.

• Harmen has a not-too-serious relationship with bandmate Iemke Groenewoud and several affairs

• Harmen has a son, Kasper, with Sanna Laukkanen

• When not in Amsterdam or touring with the band, Harmen enjoys the sun in Barcelona with his rabbit Hopzilla

• Harmen likes tattoos, although he only has three at the moment. A black 'XXIV', the Roman number 24, and 'любовь' in red, both on his upper body and the white 'Angel below' on his lower body
