Devin appeared in the Popomundo universe 2005-01-29 He is a proud citizen of Melbourne.
Devin Frame is oft considered one of the most controversial figures in Popomundo, his musical career started when he joined Abu JahJah & The Burqa's, founded by guitarist Edison Bouic. The band also included lead singer Stephan Adamson and drummer Ernest Mack and it didn't take long for the four Australians to make their mark on the scene.
After rocking Melbourne, the band secured a deal with TUF Slit Entertainment, and started a world tour in order to spread the word of Allah. However the relationship with TUF Slit Entertainment was a rocky one, and once Connie Perkins took charge of the label, it was doomed to fail. The band then signed to Prophecy Productions owned by Stephan Adamson and really started to ascend the charts with hit singles such as the highly controversial Death to America, penned by Devin himself.
However Devin started to feel as though the band was selling out, which coupled with his sugar pill habit and boredom with the antics of some of the hangerons, led to Devin to announce the Popo Festival 4 gig would be his last, the other band members agreed and the band went out on a high with a credible 4th place at the festival. Though never considered one of the main songwriters of the band, Devin seemed to have a unique knack of writing the right tune at the right time, his songs including their first big hit JahJah Binks Should Change his name; and the number 1 smash Death to America.
After leaving the Burqa's Devin joined Ontology Loop, with partner George Jackson the band play a unique mix of psy trance, techno and all things electronica; its psytrance that goes doof. Devin has really started to explore his songwriting with the band, hits like 'Techno Terrorist' and 'Rosemary Baker Has Had More Starts Than Phar Lap' are a good indication of the conflicts Devin seems to constantly be involved in. Whilst with the Burqa's, the other band members often had to stress that Devin was not the official spokesman of the band, his press releases and announcements continually attracting negative press attention, as the public couldn't understand this star who refused to sell his ethics out.
Politically aware, Devin spent the election process campaigning hard for a transparent election process, a campaign that saw him run afoul of many candidates, his unrelenting stance saw several people cross the boundary on whats was right or wrong. However Devin has vowed to continue his quest for a transparent election process, whatever the cost.
Devin also is the president of Teeth Holdings which at one stage had over 20 locales, including the world famous clubs: The Burqa Bar in London and The JahJah Bar in Melbourne. However after a sustained period of corporate success Devin shrunk his company down to a mere three locales, his boredom with corporate life clear to all.
Devin married and had 3 children with Dana Blomer, who managed to tame and calm down one of the worlds most outspoken people.
Devin was murdered on the 22nd of March 2008 due to a run in with a moderator Nigel Cameron, one of many people killed for having their own voice.
