Founded in Toronto, Canada on 2008-03-06, Where Eagles Dare Enterprises (WED Enterprises) stated goal was to get into the hospitality industry by running hotels. The first order of business was the purchase of a local establishment that was for sale in the city. With the winning bid, WED Enterprises got into the hotel business.

President Danny Harris would fix up the old building and rename and relaunch his hotel industry with the first Citadel Hotel on 2008-05-01. On May 15th, 2008, another hotel in the Toronto area was put up for bid. WED Enterprises wasted no time in it's acquisition. With the second hotal purchased, WED Enterprises started their brand of Citadel Hotels. The initial hotel was renamed Citadel Hotel Yorkville and the new building was christened Citadel Hotel Oakville.

WED Enterprises operations ballooned to seven hotels. They ran operations in Toronto (two hotels, Yorkville and Oakville), New York City, Mexico City, Paris, Stockholm, and Tromsø.

After Neil Solomon's passing, WED Enterprises scaled back its operations to a single hotel in Toronto (the Yorkville was renamed Citadel Hotels Toronto), New York City, Paris and Stockholm.
