THE SECRET MACHINES have a fascinating history.
THE SECRET MACHINES were actually started well before 8/1/07 for a singular special purpose.
When Lawana Beckwith was trying to make “Lucille” play, she was in hiding to prevent the attackers coming after her from stealing “Lucille”. She went to a friend, Stanton Mark, and told him of her problem. Stanton and Lawana had been friends for a long time, and he immediately gave Lawana a place to hide out while they figured out how to make “Lucille” play.
Lawana and Stanton realized that “Lucille” had to be played up on stage during a concert. At the time, neither Lawana or Stanton (who was CoP of Nashville at the time) had a band, so Stanton created THE SECRET MACHINES for this single purpose - to make Lucille play.
After several attempts at trying to make her play, Lawana and Stanton realized that they had to have alot of ACTUAL characters in the Bada Bing! Nashville club.
So they sent out a plea to everyone to come to the club and watch them play, hoping that was what would make “Lucille” come to life.
It was.
Lawana planned a guitar solo, in which “Lucille” was used, and it worked. Everyone in the club at the time received a message saying “Suddenly someone picked up a electric guitar and started playing in a GOD SMACKINGLY GLORIOUS way.”
At that moment, another message went out to everyone in the club saying, “A wall just collapsed in Bada Bing *REVOLUTIONARY*! Wait…! There is something beyond it…”
This created the Nashville Gate, which is the only Gate ever owned by an individual (Stanton Mark).
After a few months, Stanton tired of his position as CoP, and decided to go back on the road with THE SECRET MACHINES.
