Genre: Pop
Starting Date: 2007-04-12
Members: Ronald Chestnut (piano and songwriter)
Legato Phrase was formed after the disbandment of Dubrovnik Police Orchestra by Ronald Chestnut. Originally intended to be an extenuation of the classical theme of DPO, it was quickly decided that the band would have more success by choosing the pop genre.
After a period of touring and song writing, Chestnut decided that he would create the band's first album alone. Ronald spent the majority of September 2007 in the studio recording his single, Absolution, and his album, Legato Phrase I. Both of those recordings have been commercial successes for Chestnut. LP went on a world tour of over 25 cities to promote the new album.
On the 12th of October, a message appeared on the band's website announcing that a search for new members had begun. Legato Phrase is now accepting applications on their website.
In late November, 2007, Ronald Chestnut announced a new single that will be released in late 2007 or early 2008 called “Infinity.” It is expected to be a standalone with two previously unreleased songs. Infinity was released on December 5, 2007 to much critical acclaim. On that same day, Ronald Chestnut announced that he is working on a new full length album tentatively titled Modern Life. That album is expected to be released in February or March 2008.
