Starting Date: 2005-09-16
Members: Gavin Birmingham, Paul Coslett, Alan Sisson, and Erin Smith
Espionage was created in mid year 18 by bandleader, guitarist and backup vocalist Gavin Birmingham. Paul Coslett (lead vocals/dancer), Alan Sisson (drummer/turntables) and Erin Smith (keyboards) were soon to follow and would make up the only true Espionage lineup. For close to four Popo years, Espionage climbed the punk charts, peaking at 29th and never leaving the top 200 since it's creation. The beginning of the end came, however, when singer Paul Coslett left in early year 22. Drummer Alan Sisson was soon to follow after some discussion with Gavin. Erin and Gavin continued for a while, but not long after Alan's departure, Gavin fired Erin from the band. For a little more than a year, Gavin continued on his own, considered adding new members, but then decided to call it quits. Espionage played their farewell show in Toronto on day 25 of year 24.
