History

The Dubrovnik Police Orchestra was formed orginally on September 02, 2006 by Biondo Sherikov as a solo trumptet act. During this short period of the orchestra's history, Biondo Sherikov composed and recording two successful songs which were featured on a single called “Solo Trumpet.” While the single received heavy radio attention, it was panned commercially. After the release of the single, DPO became a strictly touring group. The orchestra enjoyed a satisfying series of popular performances throughout Europe.

Shortly after Ronald Chestnut was appointed a Police Lieutenant in the Dubrovnik Police Department, Ronald invited Sherikov to record with his band on their next album. As Chestnut had recently dissolved his most recent project Ronald Chestnut & The Flyers, he was invited to join Biondo's band as a pianist and violinist and their current lineup was completed.

All of this changed when Biondo Sherikov, after suffering mental illness for sometime, committed suicide on December 18, 2006. After his death, Ronald Chestnut fulfilled all of the band's contractual obligations. After the contract issues were resolved, Chestnut disbanded the Dubrovnik Police Orchestra on February 1, 2007.
