Melvin Stjärnblom

Born: 02 Jan 2003 (01/02)
Died: 19 Mar 2006 (21/54)

Melvin Stjärnblom was Popomundo's first dictator, succeeded in this position by Conrad Gardener. He ruled Popomundo until the London Riots year 21 culminated in the lynching of Melvin by an angry mob (local time 19:42) that stormed the City Hall. To that point, Melvin was the mayor of all cities in Popomundo.

Melvin didn't have to be killed, but according to Frank Blomdahl he made several mistakes: Melvin was a big fool who stayed in the city instead of doing what most real-world dictators do in situations as these - flee the country or resign. He could also have done other minor things to avoid getting caught by the mob. He didn't. Arrogant and over-confident to the very end.

Melvin has himself named day 30 to the Melvin Festival Day. Each anniversary of Melvin's death the world of Popomundo celebrates Liberation Day.

Even though Melvin was a dictator he had some good in him too. One of his most celebrated acts was the introduction of festivals.

Melvin's legacy is now in the hands of his niece Jeanne Stjärnblom.
