How to Survive Voodoo Powder

Also known as How to visit the Land of the Dead- and return from it!
Visiting the Land of the Dead is not for the faint of heart, so before doing it, better talk to people, that went through it before. You can DIE if you take voodoo powder unprepared!

Hi, Ellàhn (IGN Ludolf Betz) here, and there is another possible method.

This is from the Brazilian “popoduvidas” ('popodoubts'), which is trying to be something like this Wiki, but in Portuguese.

I won't say it's guaranteed because I haven't tried it, but:

1st - Calculations lead us to think Vodoo Power takes 99% of your Health away, so you could survive anyways…

2nd - Lots of People claim to have done it with this Method.

• Voodoo Powder *DANGEROUS*
• Lots of Health.
• 5 or more experience points
• Some spare time.

Learn Pharmacology and get it 4* or more. Then learn Basic Botany and start picking flowers when you're learning the skill. Someday you will Pufferfish Plant and you can use it to make Voodoo.

As we're not that confident to just have 100% health and use Voodoo, this methods consists in storing 4 or more Experience Points, and having a LOT of Health (100%, or almost it) and after you use the Vodoo Power and your Health start going down, you use some of the Experience Points on your Health, so you'll receive the achievement, because you won't STOP the Vodoo, but you won't die from the loss of 99% Health…

When having your health at 80% or more, and having those 5 exp, you can take the Voodoo. Take one exp immediatly, and when your health is going down to about 20% take another exp. Continue doing this but save atleast one exp and use it when you see your grandmother.

WHEN YOU USE THE VOODOO IT WILL ASK YOU ARE YOU SURE AND WHEN YOU KLIK YES IT SAYS:You will feel the life draining of from your body, when you fall to the ground.

In five minutes, you will see the diary stamp:I fly towards the bright lights

The first voodoo traveller(s) used this method.

Hi, this is Arvid. I received letters from a person who wishes to stay anonymous:

• 1 Voodoo Tetrodotoxin Powder
  
• 1 Adrenaline Shot (found at most hospitals with 1000 USD)
  
• 1 very trustworthy friend, with spare time.
  

Arrange a period of time where both you and your trustworthy friend can be online for around 2 hours. You will need your friend to be in possession of the adrenaline.

Once the arranged time has arrived, go ahead and take the voodoo. This will change you to a “cold and lifeless” state. At this point, you have exactly 1 hour, 30 minutes to live. Sit back and relax for a while now.
After around an hour you'll receive a diary entry that says “I can hear angels singing”.
Anytime between this message and your actual death (which is half an hour away at this point), you can have your friend use the adrenaline to save you.

Many people have speculated how to get the “land of the dead” acheivement. The most common theory is that the closer you use the adrenaline to your actual death, the more likely you'll receive the acheivement.
However, upon dying, you receive 2 diary entries (“I can see my grandmother. She is smiling” and “I'm not feeling well… The pain… It hurts… ahr…”). There is debate that there is a small amount of time between these 2 entries, and this is your window for gaining the acheivement. If this is true, the time frame is less than 1 minute, because both diary entries have the same time stamp in your diary.

While how to gain the acheivement is not 100% certain, I have provided you with guarenteed steps to help you survive voodoo. How risky you'd like to be is up to you!

I forgot to mention in that guide to surviving voodoo that the Adrenaline shots are used as an interaction item, similar to a camera or a pet.
